Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.* WHERE...Portions of central, northeast, northern, and southeastWest Virginia.* WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Saturday.* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, willlikely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions areexpected and will make travel treacherous and potentiallylife-threatening. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardousconditions could impact the Friday evening commute. Gusty windscould bring down tree branches.If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water inyour vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions forthe state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutelynecessary, drive with extreme caution. Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, andunfrozen water.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors.
