Total snowaccumulations between 6 and 9 inches and ice accumulations aroundone tenth of an inch.* WHERE...Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Ridges of Eastern Monongaliaand Northwestern Preston, and Wetzel Counties.* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Monday.* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, willlikely become slick and hazardous.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There are two realistic outcomes from thiswinter event. One features colder air for the duration, with aband of heavy snow (6 to 9 inches) for northern West Virginiawhich does not mix with other precipitation types. The secondfeatures a temporary transition from snow to sleet and freezingrain Monday morning before turning back to snow by Mondayafternoon (totals by Monday evening of 5 to 7 inches and a bit ofice accumulation). Either outcome will produce hazardous impactsin the region.Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutelynecessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for suddenchanges in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and themotorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach yourdestination.
