Special Weather Statement issued January 12 at 2:59AM MST by NWS Salt Lake City UTAt 258 AM MST...A snow squall was over the northern Salt LakeValley, moving south at 15 mph.Locations impacted include...Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, Murray, West Jordan,Taylorsville, South Jordan, Lehi, Draper, Riverton, CottonwoodHeights, Midvale, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Herriman, EagleMountain, Alpine, Bluffdale, Camp Williams, and Millcreek.This includes the following highways...Interstate 15 between mile markers 282 and 311.Interstate 80 in Utah between mile markers 107 and 125.* visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter mile inthis squall.* sudden and brief snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour arepossible in this squall.Rapid visibility reduction and potentially icy roads are likely toproduce hazardous driving conditions. Travel is not advised duringthis snow squall.
