Carinteriors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety andHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks inshaded or air conditioned environments. High levels ofozone in the lower atmosphere in the region combined with forecastedconditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels at timesthrough 8 PM PDT Friday. Smoke from regional wildfires is alsonegatively impacting air quality.Pollutants can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart andlung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limitoutdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky.
