In western New York, Allegany,Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara,Northern Erie, Ontario, Orleans, Southern Erie, Wayne and Wyoming.* WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff from significant snowmelt and a generalhalf inch of rain may result in flooding of rivers, smallertributaries, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Themost prone areas for flooding will be where ice jams typicallydevelop. The greatest risk for ice jam flooding will be into thisevening with the risk for river based flooding later tonight intoThursday.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- An intense storm system moving across Lower Michigan willsend a surge of Spring like warmth to our region throughtonight. Widespread temperatures in the 50s are forecastedfor the entire region today with the mercury remaining abovefreezing into Thursday. These temperatures will beaccompanied by a general half inch of rainfall. The fast meltoff of the snowpack will combine with this rainfall to causesignificant rises to area tributaries with flooding becomingpossible.
