Hydrologic Outlook issued November 18 at 2:40AM CST by NWS Duluth MNESFDLHAn incoming weather system is forecast to bring 2 to 4 inches ofrain to the North Shore beginning late tonight and lasting intoTuesday early afternoon. While drought conditions and dry soils willallow some of the first part of this moderate to heavy rainfall tosoak into the ground, eventually runoff will begin to occur Tuesday.This runoff will feed creeks and rivers along the North Shore thatflow into Lake Superior. Widespread flooding is not expected at thistime.As flows increase on area rivers that are popular for waterfallviewing, visitors should be careful due to slippery rocks, cliffs,and strong currents. If recreating Tuesday or potentially Wednesday,have a plan in case low-lying campsites have standing water and tomove away from the banks of rivers and creeks.If another update to this outlook is needed, it will be issued by4:00 PM Monday, November 18, 2024.
