For the Cold Weather Advisory, verycold wind chills as low 25 to 30 below expected.* WHERE...Portions of central Upper and western Upper Michigan.* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, until 1 PM EST /noon CST/this afternoon. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 1 PM EST/noon CST/ this afternoon to 1 AM EST /midnight CST/ Wednesday.* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed tothese temperatures. An extended period of freezingtemperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.Wear protective clothing such as a hat, facemask and heavy glovesor mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezingand possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should bewrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-groundpipes to protect them from freezing.
