For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerouslycold wind chills as low as 32 below expected.* WHERE...Alger, Southern Schoolcraft and Northern SchoolcraftCounties.* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 1 AM EST Tuesday.For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 1 AM to 1 PM EST Tuesday.* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed tothese temperatures. An extended period of freezingtemperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.Wear protective clothing such as a hat, facemask and heavy glovesor mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezingand possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should bewrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-groundpipes to protect them from freezing.

Less than an inch expected west of Munising andsouth of Seney.* WHERE...Ontonagon, Alger, Luce and Northern SchoolcraftCounties.* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday.* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardousconditions will impact the morning and evening commutes.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as45 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as littleas 10 minutes in Ontonagon County. The dangerously cold windchills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposedskin in as little as 30 minutes in Alger, northern Schoolcraft,and Luce counties. Therefore dress warmly and have a wintersurvival kit in your vehicle if venturing out.Slow down and use caution while traveling.
