Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.* WHERE...Benzie, Leelanau, and Manistee Counties.* WHEN...From 7 AM Wednesday to 1 AM EST Thursday.* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, willlikely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions areexpected and will make travel treacherous and potentiallylife-threatening.Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutelynecessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winterstorm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would helpyou survive in case you become stranded.

Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.
