Additional snow accumulationsbetween 4 and 6 inches, sleet accumulations around one half of aninch, and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch. Windsgusting as high as 45 mph.* WHERE...Anderson, Coffey, and Franklin Counties.* WHEN...Until midnight CST tonight.* IMPACTS...Roads are slick and hazardous. Visibilities may dropbelow 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong windsand weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and couldcause sporadic power outages. Significant ice accumulation onpower lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lastingpower outages. Travel will be very difficult.Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutelynecessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for suddenchanges in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and themotorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach yourdestination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especiallycautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car iswinterized and in good working order.If traveling, consider taking a winter storm kit along with you,including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight,shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aidkit, and anything else that would help you survive in case youbecome stranded.
