The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.* Affected Area...Lake IN, Porter, Newton, Jasper and BentonCounties.* Timing...Until midnight CDT /1 AM EDT/ tonight.* Winds...South 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.* Relative Humidity...As low as 30 to 35 percent.* Impacts...Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoorburning is strongly discouraged.A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditionsare either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination ofstrong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures cancontribute to extreme fire behavior.

For the High Wind Watch, southwest winds 30to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.* WHERE...Benton County.* WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, from 5 PM this afternoon to 5 AM EDTSaturday. For the High Wind Watch, from Saturday morning throughSaturday afternoon.* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult,especially for high profile vehicles. Gusty winds will blow aroundunsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few poweroutages may result.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds today are expected tooccur mid to late this evening, when sporadic gusts up to 60 mphmay occur.
