Total snow and sleetaccumulations between 3 and 5 inches and ice accumulations betweentwo tenths and one half of an inch.* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois and southwest Indiana.* WHEN...Until 6 AM CST /7 AM EST/ Monday.* IMPACTS...Significant ice accumulation on power lines and treelimbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages. Expectpower outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could beimpossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Mondaymorning commute.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An arctic blast will arrive Monday and lastthrough most of the week. Wind chill values will drop into thesingle digits or below zero at times, which can be even moredangerous with any long duration power outages.If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water inyour vehicle in case of an emergency.
