Cold Weather Advisory issued January 21 at 12:04PM CST until January 22 at 2:00AM CST by NWS Quad Cities IA IL* WHAT...Very cold wind chills around 20 below expected.* WHERE...Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and eastcentral, northeast, and southeast Iowa.* WHEN...Until 2 AM CST Wednesday.* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zerocould cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 20 to 30minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skinis exposed to these temperatures.Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, andunfrozen water.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.
