For the Freeze Watch, from Thursday eveningthrough Friday morning.* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 20 degrees could resultin hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin isexposed to these temperatures. Wind chill values can lead tohypothermia with prolonged exposure. Very cold temperatures canlead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Appropriate actionshould be taken to ensure tender vegetation and outdoor pets haveadequate protection from the cold temperatures. Young children,the elderly and the homeless are especially vulnerable to thecold. Take measures to protect them.Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.Take measures to protect young children, the elderly and thehomeless. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain orallow them to drip slowly. Take steps now to protect tender plantsfrom the cold.
