Severe Heatwave Warning for the Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett Districts.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is expected to develop across the South East coast tonight, becoming more widespread over the warning area on Sunday as the system moves inland, including Brisbane, Ipswich, the Sunshine Coast and Gympie. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 80 and 130 mm are likely today and into Sunday morning. 24-hourly totals between 120 and 200 mm are likely. Locally INTENSE RAINFALL which may lead to DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING may develop tonight and during Sunday in bands of showers and thunderstorms wrapping around the eastern and southern side of the system over the South East Coast and southern Wide Bay and Burnett which may include Brisbane, Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 150 and 210 mm and 24-hourly totals between 300 and 400 mm are possible. All rainfall numbers are dependent on the movement and position of the system. If intense rainfall is detected, a separate Detailed Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued. DAMAGING WINDS averaging 70 to 80 km/h with peak gusts around 110 km/h are occurring about Moreton Bay and will likely remain about the southern coastal fringe and the Moreton Bay islands tonight, with an expectation to ease by Sunday morning as the low moves onshore. DAMAGING WIND GUSTS with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible tonight over the South East Coast, southern Wide Bay and Burnett and eastern Darling Downs and Granite Belt. A Tropical Cyclone Forecast Track Map is current for ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. A Coastal Hazard Warning and Hazardous Surf Warning is current. A Flood Watch and Flood Warnings are current for southern and southeastern Queensland. Sustained 82 km/h winds were recorded at Redcliffe at 9:30 pm. 104 km/h wind gust was recorded at Redcliffe at 9:24 pm. 119 mm was recorded at Carbrook in the 3 hours to 2:00 am. 142 mm was recorded at Upper Springbrook in the 4 hours to 1:20 am. Sustained 65 to 70 km/h winds have been recorded at Gold Coast Seaway between 12:30 am and continue to 4:30 pm.
