For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously coldtemperatures as low as 40 below expected.* WHERE...Ontonagon, Baraga, Marquette, Dickinson, Menominee,Delta and Southern Houghton Counties.* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 10 PM EST /9 PMCST/ this evening. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 10 PMEST /9 PM CST/ this evening to 1 PM EST /noon CST/ Tuesday.* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed tothese temperatures. An extended period of freezingtemperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.Wear protective clothing such as a hat, facemask and heavy glovesor mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezingand possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should bewrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-groundpipes to protect them from freezing.
