Snowfall rates could approach 1 inch an hour at times.If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water inyour vehicle in case of an emergency. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotectedskin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of wellbelow freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you mustgo outside.To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them todrip slowly.Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, andunfrozen water.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors.
