This is due to an inversionand stagnant air conditions near the surface that will continue totrap pollutants.* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and northeast Oregonand central, south central, and southeast Washington.* WHEN...Until 4 PM PST Monday.* IMPACTS...Poor air quality may cause issues for people withrespiratory problems.An Air Stagnation Advisory indicates that due to limited movement ofan air mass across the advisory area, pollution has the potential toincrease to dangerous levels. Persons with respiratory illnessshould follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levelsof air pollution during periods of stagnant air, state air qualityagencies highly recommend that no outdoor burning occur and thatresidential wood burning devices be limited as much as possible.According to state air quality agencies, prolonged periods ofstagnant air can hold pollutants close to the ground, where peoplelive and breathe. Check with your local burn agency for any currentrestrictions in your area.
