Flood Watch issued December 11 at 3:14PM EST until December 12 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Albany NY* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, including thefollowing areas, Northern Litchfield and Southern Litchfield,western Massachusetts, including the following areas, NorthernBerkshire and Southern Berkshire, east central New York, includingthe following areas, Eastern Rensselaer, Northern Washington,Southern Washington and Western Rensselaer, and southern Vermont,including the following areas, Bennington, Eastern Windham andWestern Windham.* WHEN...Through Thursday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occurin poor drainage and urban areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A low pressure system and associated cold front will continueto bring periods of moderate to heavy rainfall through thisevening before colder air returns to eastern New York andwestern New England. Mile temperatures ahead of the frontwill allow for at least some snow melt which will further addto the run off. Minor to moderate flooding of main stemrivers may occur.
