Hydrologic Outlook issued January 24 at 10:25AM EST by NWS Northern IndianaESFIWXFavorable conditions for possible river ice jams are expectedover the next week.Bitterly cold temperatures have created some ice formation on arearivers and with slight warming later this weekend and into earlynext week may make for favorable conditions for ice jams on arearivers and tributaries. River ice spotters are asked to report anyice jams or ice jam flooding. Any ice jam that develops will havethe potential to cause rises on area rivers with little to nowarning and isolated areas of flooding are possible.This outlook means that elevated water levels and potential impactsare possible, but not yet certain. Persons along area rivers shouldcontinue to monitor the latest forecasts over the next week.
