Cold Weather Advisory issued January 20 at 11:36AM CST until January 22 at 9:00AM CST by NWS Birmingham AL* WHAT...Wind chills of 5 to 15 degrees and temperatures of 10 to 20degrees.* WHERE...All of Central Alabama.* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 9 AM CST Wednesday.* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skinis exposed to these temperatures. An extended period ofsubfreezing temperatures could cause pipes to burst.Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.To prevent freezing and possible bursting of pipes they should bewrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
