Air temperatures below 30 degreeswill also result in damage to sensitive crops. Air temperaturesthis cold can possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipesthey should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Thosethat have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and coverabove-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
