This includes the TribalLands of the Fond du Lac Band, the Grand Portage Reservation, theMille Lacs Band, Hinckley, Lena Lake, East Lake and, Big SandyLake areas and the Bois Forte Band, Lake Vermilion, Nett Lake and,Deer Creek areas. Other locations including Voyageurs NationalPark. The entire Boundary Waters is also included.* WHEN...Until noon CST today.* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 45 below zerocould cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin isexposed to these temperatures. An extended period of very coldtemperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves or mittens ifyou must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.
